These long, often gloomy UK winters seem to last forever don’t they? So when spring finally arrives it’s time to celebrate. With the weather getting warmer and the days longer we can begin to spend a bit more time outdoors, maybe open up the windows and let some of that fresh spring air in. How about a BBQ? Let’s not get ahead of ourselves.
For about one in five people the arrival of spring is a mixed blessing. Hay fever is an allergic reaction to pollen and those who suffer from it can testify that the symptoms are pretty unpleasant. Itchy eyes, sore throat, runny nose; it can all add up to a pretty miserable result, especially if you already suffer from asthma, as many hay fever sufferers do.
Where does the pollen come from? Well, In early spring time, the increased pollen count is generally down to tree pollen, but as spring progresses grass pollen is also released. It’s a two pronged attack that can be almost impossible to avoid, with no cure. Just because there isn’t a cure doesn’t mean you need to suffer though. With the right preparation and precautions hay fever can treated and managed, minimising its effects or avoiding them entirely.
One of the biggest problems is right there under your feet. You see, the carpets in your home essentially act as an air filter. Dust and particles floating around in the air will eventually come to rest here. When they do, they will naturally cling to the fibres of the carpet and get trodden in underfoot. This is great in the short term, as it can reduce the amount of airborne dust and pollen which causes so much discomfort to those suffering from hay fever or asthma. By comparison, a hard floor would leave these particles loose, meaning they can be easily agitated by the movement of air.
Problems arise when carpets are left without professional cleaning for some time. This allows for the carpet to become saturated with pollutants. Regular vacuum cleaning can help lessen the effect, but consumer-grade equipment simply lacks the power to reach deep into the fibres of the carpet and eliminate these nasties.
Whether you’re suffering from hay fever, asthma or you’ve just generally found your home is getting a little dusty, for the best results, we strongly suggest you call in a pro. High power and high temperature equipment means that we can extract more pollen and detritus from your carpets. Our equipment will vastly reduce, if not eliminate entirely, the effects of spring time allergens in the home. You’ll be amazed at the difference it makes and will love your beautifully clean and fresh smelling carpets, our packages have been created to help you get the best possible long term results. Don’t suffer from hay fever in your own home, endlessly dosing yourself on anti-histamine. Get the professionals in and have more fun this spring time.
